William K, Makepeace ("Bill") Obituary

William K. "Bill" Makepeace, 62, of Meadville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, after a long battle with Sarcoma.

Bill was born in Grove Cit, on Dec. 1, 1958, a son of Chester W. and Carolyn (Sterner) Makepeace

He was an active member of New Beginnings Church of God, Meadville.

Bill graduated from Grove City High School, Class of 1977, and attended Youngstown State University.

On Aug. 17, 1985, Bill married the love of his life, Julie Thayer, and together they opened the Meadville Dairy Queen in 1987.

Bill was an active man who loved to archery hunt, bowl, play pickleball, run and be out in nature. His true love was his family, his church and his community. If Bill could be remembered for anything it would be that he loved God and all those he knew. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife of 36 years, Julie, Bill is survived by four children: Andrew W. Makepeace (Laura) of Meadville, Ryan A. Makepeace (Cassie) of Meadville, Dr. Joshua A. Makepeace (US Army Captain Dr. Nicole) of Charlottesville, Va., Justin T. Makepeace (Hayley) of Meadville; his beloved grandchildren, who were the pride of his heart and joy of his life, Cali, Crosby, Jaxon and Lincoln; his parents Chester Makepeace (Carolyn) of Grove City; siblings Donna Stanton of Harrisville, Debra Trapasso (John) of Greensburg, Donald R. Makepeace of Grove City; his father-in-law David E. Thayer of Meadville; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, A. Kathryn Thayer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill's honor to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St. or Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, both Meadville, PA 16335.

Always remember, "Jesus is the answer."
