William D. Dean Obituary

William D. Dean, 79, was born Dec. 13, 1937, to parents, William Wendell and Ethel McFarland Dean. He went home to be with his Lord on Oct. 15, 2017, while surrounded by his family.

Bill graduated from Princeton High School and joined the Air Force after his graduation.

He married his loving wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Arblaster on May 29, 1961. They lived a wonderful 56 years together, raising a beautiful family.

Bill worked for Penn Power and was a farmer. He enjoyed making hay and raising his sheep and Haflinger horses. He was a hardworking man with a passion for farming.

Bill was a former director on the Lawrence County Fair Board, a member of Eastbrook United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Eastbrook Mission Barn. He supported the 4-H and FFA programs locally and volunteered as a 4-H leader. Bill loved his family immensely and enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He could always be seen at cattle shows, sporting events and school activities supporting his grandchildren from the sidelines.

Bill is survived by: his wife, Bobbie; his siblings, Phoebe Parrish, Sally (Pete) Makarevich, George (Peggy) Dean, and Phillip (Cindy) Dean; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Braatz; his children, Barbara (Richard) Ragnelli, William Dean, and Bryan (Jean Ann) Dean; and his grandchildren, Shelby, Wyatt, Laini, Angus and Aberdeen Dean. Also surviving are: many nephews, nieces and cousins, as well as many good friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ellen Arblaster, and brothers-in-law, Junior Parish and William Braatz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Laurel FFA or Moniteau FFA as Bill was active in both chapters.

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (10-18-17) in R. CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday (10-19-17) at Eastbrook United Methodist Church, 2412 Eastbrook Road. Online condolences may be offered at www.cunninghamfh.com

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Loren McQueen officiating.

Burial: Briar Hill Cemetery.
