Slippery Rock, PA - The Grim Reaper finally got William J. "Duck" Chisholm on April 3, 2026.

Born in Grove City Hospital on April 22, 1953, to Robert O. and Alice V. Schaible Chisholm, he spent his youth living and working in the Sandy Lake area.

Upon graduating from Lakeview High School in 1971, he worked for many years at Polk Center in various positions. Later in life, he then worked for Jr. Kimes in Sandy Lake while earning his L.P.N. licensure. This career took him to Meadville Medical Center, then Harborview Health Care in Morehead City, N.C., and lastly Valley Community Services, from which he retired.

With his love of the ocean, he enjoyed scuba, snorkeling, and simply playing in the waves. He was always grateful for the five years of living at the beach, and that he got to share his love of the shore with many family and friends.

He returned to Western Pennsylvania for the birth of his grandchildren, Noah William and Kate Marie Bovard, who became the joys of his life. He also cherished being a close part of the lives of his children, Sayra and Jeremy Bovard, Grove City, and Kristen Chisholm and Chris Noonan of Pittsburgh.

His years were blessed with good friends, uncrowded beaches, travelling (including backpacking through Europe with his friend "Doc"), guitar music, and good parties ... and there were many of those.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Patricia "Patti" (Lally) Chisholm; above-mentioned children and grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Joe, Steve, Dan and Darla Chisholm, Tammi Irvine and Heather Bacher and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and several good friends.

Duck brought love and humor to all of the lives he touched. He was a wonderful partner to Patti, a great dad and papa, and he will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
