Wilbur A. Miller of Meadville died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Meadville Medical Center. He was 86.

He was born in Stoneboro on April 17, 1930, a son of Cecil J. and Ruby Luise Hogg Miller.

He married Patricia N. (Patty) Newton on June 18, 1955; she preceded him in death on March 29, 2002.

He was a 1948 graduate of Hickory High School, and he attended Youngstown State University.

He operated a dry cleaning business in Sharon and then was an independent insurance agent from 1963 until his retirement in 2009.

He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed hunting and spending time at a camp on the Clarion River and with his grandchildren and great-grandsons.

He is survived by a daughter, Suzan K. Moyers and her husband Jeffery, Clarion; two sons, Mark A. Miller and his wife Carol, Franklin; and David C. Miller and his wife Marie, Meadville; five grandchildren, Shawn Miller and his wife Peggy Sue, Eric Miller and his wife Jenn, Bryan Miller, Christopher Miller and Jenna Wagner and her husband Matthew; five great-grandsons, Bryce, Wyatt, Dylan, Dmitry and Trace; and two nieces, Lynne Jones and Denise Malovich.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loy A. Daye and her husband Merle.
