Hermitage, PA - Therese Cullen, 66, Hermitage, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, in UPMC Horizon following a brief, devastating illness.

She was surrounded by those she loved most at the time of her passing, and is survived by her heartbroken family, husband Bill Cullen, sons Eric and Scott Cullen, Eric's wife Danielle, and Eric's children, her beloved grandchildren Nola and Grady Cullen, who are lost without their wonderful "Mammy."

Therese was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to parents Medio ("Mike") Mercolini and Mary Josephine (Smith) Mercolini, both now deceased, and was a much-loved and devoted sister to Michele Janosko, Maureen Ziolkowski, James Mercolini and Sue Ann Pope, and sister-in-law to Michael and Cindy Cullen, Mary Anne and Gary Osborne, and the late Sandra Lee Lortie.

She was adored by her seven nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and -nephews on the Mercolini side, and by the six nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and -nephews, as well as great-great nieces and -nephews on the Cullen side.

Therese is also survived by two aunts and an uncle, and by many, many Mercolini cousins. She also leaves behind many close and treasured friends who became adopted family members, including her "BFF" Denise Osborne and her partner-in-mischief, Laura Achenbach.

Therese attended Duquesne University and spent her career as an accountant and hospital administrator, most recently at the Sharon Regional Medical Center, from which she retired several years ago. On her retirement, she finally had the time to begin living her life to the fullest and she didn't squander any of it. She enjoyed many post-retirement adventures with Bill, her family and friends.

She was a giver in every sense of the word, and always took care of everyone and everything. She was truly the life of every party and filled all of our lives with great joy and much laughter. She leaves a hole in the hearts of those who are left behind that can never be filled.
