Thelma J. "TJ" Addicott, Candor, N.Y., formerly of Sharon, entered the gates of heaven on Friday (6-26-09). She was 76. Mrs. Addicott was born Nov. 5, 1932, in Sharon, and is survived by her husband, Glen Addicott, with whom she recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 19th. She also is survived by children, Karen Simpson (John Tompkins), Candor; Thomas Addicott (Ann-Marie Torbert), Richford, N.Y.; James Addicott, Ovid, N.Y.; Michelle Pottorff (Joe Poteat), Candor; and Michael and Nikki Addicott, Trumansburg, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Kristen (James) Tompkins, Leslie (Nick) Thomas, Nicole Addicott, Josh Pottorff, and Greg, Glen, and Bradley Addicott; five great-grandchildren, James and Grace Tompkins, Daniel and Nicholas Thomas, and Faith Fenton; and her devoted companion, "Benji." She also is survived by two sisters and brother-in-law, Paula (John) Priester and Gwen Locke; and sister-in-law, Ruth Horsman; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Grace Elizabeth Horsman, and two brothers, Raymond and Jack Horsman. Thelma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Some of the many things she enjoyed were spending time with family, backyard barbecues, ballgames, gardening, fishing and trips to casinos. She dedicated her life to her family with her unconditional love. Her loyalty, compassion and sense of humor will remain forever in their hearts. Memorial contributions may be made in Thelma's memory to the American Cancer Society, Tioga Unit, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (6-30-09) at the Estey, Munroe and Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor, with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday (6-29-09) at the funeral home.
