Volant, PA - Terry Lee McIlwain, 79, of Volant, Springfield Township, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 19, 1945, in Grove City. He was the son of Edna Kreutz and raised by his adoptive parents, James H. and Alice Bailey McIlwain.

Terry married Charlotte Irene Miller on May 8, 1965.

Terry served in the Army for 15-and-a-half years, then worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare.

Terry attended both New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington and Truth and Grace Fellowship in Hermitage.

He was an avid pool player and enjoyed watching Western classic TV shows.

He was a member of the Stanley Snyder Post VFW, where he also served as chaplain.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte at home; son, Jeffery L. (Bobbie) McIlwain of

Volant; daughter, Michelle LeAnn Cooper of Grove City; and six grandchildren, Josiah, Jeremiah, Emily, Ava, James and Joel.

He is preceded in death by a son, Pastor Jason R. McIlwain; and his parents.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (7-23-25) and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday (7-24-25) at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1778 Perry Hwy., Volant (Village of Leesburg).

Celebration of Life service: 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, led by Pastor John Bailey.

Interment: Leesburg Cemetery.
