He was also a member of the Sharpsville American Legion and the Farrell Italian Home.

An avid and accomplished long-distance runner, Saul was a two-time Boston Marathon finisher. In 1985, while running for the Allegheny Nike Master's Team, he finished seventh overall and set a master's record time of 2 hours, 35 mins at the Charlotte Observer Marathon in North Carolina.

Saul married his high school sweetheart, Bonita (Bonni) DeJulia DePofi. They were married July 17, 1965, and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next month.

In addition to his parents, Saul was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Leonard Murdock; and dear lifelong friends, Ed and Linda Stanton and Carmen Argenziano.

Saul always enjoyed spending time with Joey Fazzone and being a part of his life and, in the last four years, no one brought a smile to his face more than Sammy Sweet.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward a memorial bench at Buhl Park in memory of Saul, c/o the DePofi family. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
