Shirley A. Pears, 94, of Hermitage, formerly of Greenville, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, April 14, 2023, at Sharon Regional Medical Center with family by her side.

Shirley was born March 26, 1929, in Greenville to the late Claude M. and Irene (Christ) Gibbens.

She graduated from Penn High School.

Shirley was a devoted homemaker.

Prior to starting a family, she worked at Lininger Photography Studio in Greenville.

She attended Truth and Grace Fellowship in Hermitage.

She enjoyed participating and dancing in the Senior Follies.

Shirley loved to travel, especially in the motor home.

She also enjoyed golf in the past, was always involved in church as a passionate leader and teacher, everything from Sunday school to Vacation Bible school. Her faith was her strength and greatest gift to others.

She married Kahle W. Pears on Feb. 23, 1957, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1996.

Shirley is survived by her son, Kahle Daniel Pears of Greenville; daughter, Karen S. Pilgram and her husband Kern, of Greenville; stepdaughter, Susan A. Ray of Jamestown; six grandchildren, Kahla Wilson and her significant other Nathan Mooney, Leah Christine Shopene and her husband Zachary Paul, Benjamin Pilgram, Kahle Nathaniel Pears and his fiancée, Jennifer Roth, and Kelli Ray and Tammi Ray; and a great-grandson, Owen Mooney.

Also surviving are a sister, Marjorie Cable of Alhambra, Calif.; and three sisters-in-law, Caroline Fisher of Cochranton, Donna Jean Larimer of Sheakleyville and Elsie Huff and her husband Willie, of Greenville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister, Vivian Campbell.
