Sharon K. Stanford, 68, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Nov. 9, 2018 at West Penn Hospital.

Born April 11, 1950 in Oil City, she was the daughter of Clayton R. and Lois J. (McGarrity) Dunkle.

Sharon was a homemaker and a member of the former Wolf Creek United Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed watching softball at Waynesburg Jr. High, Laurel High School and Point Park University and card club with her friends. She loved her faithful dog, Gracie, and most important was time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, David E. Stanford, whom she married Dec. 20, 1968.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. (Jay) Harrison, of New Castle and Jennifer L. (Anthony E.) Gumbarevic of Waynesburg; and eight grandchildren, Noah Baumis, Delaney Baumis, Garrett Gumbarevic, Faith Gumbarevic, Christoffer M. Harrison, Ashley Harrison, Cody Harrison and Alaska (Allison) Gumbarevic.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her parents-in-law, William A. and Ruth M. Stanford.
