Hermitage, Pennsylvania - Sally R. Garrison, 82, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 24, 2025, after an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 20, 1942, in Philadelphia to the late Mr. and Mrs. William (Ida) T. Craig. She grew up in Newell and graduated from Brownsville High School in 1960.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother, Pauline Cedel.

She is survived by her sister, Susan (John) Kopp, Newell; a niece, Sue (Stephen) Anderson, Rostraver Township; a nephew, John (Melissa) Kopp III, West Newton; and four great-nephews and one great-niece.

Sally was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service both in Hermitage and in Arvada, Colo., where she retired in 2004 after 20 years of service. She was also previously employed at Altmyers and Philadelphia Candies, both in Hermitage.

She also enjoyed square dancing and playing board games with her family, especially Trivial Pursuit.

Sally's greatest joy was being a mother and a grandmother. She is survived by five children, Charles (Teresa) Austin, Virginia Beach, Va., Karen Crispen, Farrell, Kenneth (Frances) Austin, Mercer, Scott (Chaz) Austin, Fort Knox, Ky., and Tanya Raiti, Sharon. In addition to her children, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, she also has three great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and 10 step-great grandchildren.

Sally was a strong, born-again Spirit, filled believer and she raised her family to know and follow Jesus. She was an active member of her church, Abundant Life in Sharpsville, until she became ill. She was a Sunday School teacher almost all of her adult married life and she has passed on a rich Christian heritage to her children.

Interment: Monongahela Cemetery in Monongahela, alongside her parents.
