Roberta Jane Reichard
Roberta Jane Reichard, 94, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, in Quality of Life Services, Mercer.
Roberta was born Dec. 11, 1925, the daughter of Quincy Raymond and Lydia Mildred Tait, Mercer.
She was a graduate of the Fredonia Vocational Technical School and spent two years in business school in Pittsburgh.
Growing up on the family farm, she was active in various 4-H clubs and activities.
She was a lifelong member of the Coolspring Presbyterian Church, where she served on numerous boards, was active in the missionary society, and was the organist for more than 50 years.
She was a 75-year member of the Mercer Music Club and participated with distinction in many events and activities over the years.
She was employed for 33 years in varying capacities at the Mercer County Courthouse including positions in the Mercer County Cooperative Extension Office, Clerk of Courts, Prothonotary and Commissioners offices. She retired from her dedicated service to Mercer County in 1990.
In May 1947, she married her high school sweetheart, Norman D. Reichard of Greenville. They were married for 59 years.
She lived on the Tait family farm in Mercer until 2014, was mother to two children, Larry and Linda, and then as grandmother of five and great-grandmother of five.
She cared for both her parents in old age, and she was a faithful wife to Norman until his untimely death in 2006.
Besides her husband, Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Raymond Tait, Coolspring; and her son-in-law, Thomas Munnell, Mercer.
She is survived by a brother, John Tait and wife Margaret Anne, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Peg Tait, Coolspring: two children, Larry and his partner Amy Perell, Hermitage, and Linda R. Munnell, Mercer; five grandchildren, Ian Reichard and his partner Michele, North Carolina, Nathan Reichard and wife Yuki, Virginia, Joshua Reichard and wife Jennifer, California, Douglas Munnell and his wife Erin, Cleveland and Lydia Munnell and her husband Andrew Mathay, Cleveland. She is also survived by two nieces, five great-grandchildren and her memory will be carried in the hearts of many friends.
A special thank you is extended to the professional staff of Quality of Life Services, Countryside, Mercer, for their never ending care and compassion for Roberta during her time at Countryside.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (2-10-20) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer, and 10 a.m. to time of service Tuesday (2-11-20) at Coolspring Presbyterian Church, 787 Coolspring Church Road, Mercer.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev. Mark Frailey officiating.
Burial: Delaware Cemetery, Delaware Township.
