Robert P. Rodgers (Bob) Obituary
Brookfield, Ohio - Robert P. "Bob" Rodgers, 83, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully with his wife, son, and brother at his side, late Sunday evening, June 21, 2026, in Hospice House, Poland, Ohio.
Mr. Rodgers was born on Dec. 16, 1942, in Sharon, a son of the late Robert I. and Rosemary (Sheridan) Rodgers.
He attended Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School and later graduated from Sharon High School in 1961.
For 28 years, Bob worked as a metallurgical technician at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant.
He then drove a school bus for Brookfield Local Schools, later becoming supervisor of the bus garage.
Concurrently, Bob coached track and cross country at Brookfield High School, where coaching and mentoring young athletes became a true passion.
Bob was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, and was previously a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Church, Sharon, where he served as an Eucharistic minister and usher.
He proudly served in the 858 Quarter Master Co. in the Army Reserves, Farrell.
A classic car enthusiast, Bob was the proud owner of a 1951 Chevy Sedan Deluxe and won numerous trophies at local and regional car shows.
His greatest love, however, was that for his family, especially for his beloved grandchildren, and getting together every Sunday for family dinner.
Bob was a friendly and outgoing person; everyone who knew him loved him.
His wife of 59 years, Rosemarie (Bachick) Rodgers, whom he married on Sept. 3, 1966, survives at home in Brookfield.
Bob is also survived by his son, Bob Rodgers (Alexandra), Independence, Ohio; his twin siblings, including a sister, Sherry Hogg (John), West Middlesex; and a brother, Terry Rodgers, Boardman, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Christina, Alena and Dillon Rodgers.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Darla Rodgers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be directed to Church of the Good Shepherd, 3613 Sharon Road, West Middlesex, PA 16159; or Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Youngstown, OH 44514.
