Robert W. Bryer Sr., a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, and formerly of Linesville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, in Meadville Medical Center. He was 85.

He was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Linesville, a son of the late Joseph J. Bryer and Alma C. John Bryer.

He married Leilani Rose Patrick on May 21, 1955. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2010.

A graduate of Linesville High School, he attended Penn State University until the war and then he had to return home to run the dairy farm. He was an avid affiliate for the dairy farmers in this region. He was the marketing manager for NFO (National Farmers Organization) and Southern Milk Sales.

Robert was a member of St. Philip's Roman Catholic Church in Linesville.

Robert enjoyed his '71 Charger, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attending numerous years of Pittsburgh Pirates spring training. In addition, he was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.

He is survived by: four daughters, Patti Tolliver of Florida, Robin Sullivan of Fredonia, Janet DeArment and her husband Mike of Sheakleyville, and Audrey Heath and her husband Harold of Andover; three sons, Robert Bryer Jr. and his wife Pam of Ohio, Scott Bryer and his wife Amy of Cochranton, and Shane Bryer and his wife Jennifer of Meadville; 14 grandchildren, Dennis Bryer, P.J. Sutton, Rodney Shetler, Shaughnesy Sullivan, Heather Sullivan, B.J. Bryer, Cody Bryer, Abby Bryer, Victoria Bryer, Rikki Bryer, Matthew Bryer, Kyle Wheeler, Ashlee Heath, and Garrett Bryer; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Bryer and his wife Millie of Cleveland.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Robert was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Bryer and Linda DeJohn; a brother, Joseph J. Bryer Jr.; a sister, Marilyn Hyde; and an infant sister, Helen Bryer.
