Richard H. "Dick" Morris Obituary

Richard H. "Dick" Morris, 77, Fredonia, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Fairmont, W.Va., on Aug. 19, 1947, a son of the late Robert E. and Margaret E. (Thomas) Morris.

He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.

On Aug. 9, 1969, he married the former Kaye M. Franklin, and they shared 55 years together.

Dick was a skilled tradesman, first working with the Carpenters Union and Masonry Union before establishing his own business, R. Morris and Sons Concrete. In addition, he dedicated over 25 years to overseeing the maintenance for Fredonia borough.

Mr. Morris was a member of the Eureka Lodge 290, Free and Accepted Masons, Greenville, the New Castle Consistory, the Zem Zem Shriners, Erie, the Sharon Council Royal and Select Masons, Mt. Calvary Commandery 67, Knights Templar, Greenville and the Reynolds VFW Post 7599.

He attended the Fredonia Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, Kaye, he is survived by three sons, Brad (Shannon) Morris, Zelienople, Brian (Stacie) Morris, Cary, N.C., and Barry (Kristen) Morris, Transfer; and seven grandchildren: Aidan Morris, Addison Morris, Preston Morris, Emerson Morris, Dylan Morris, Luke Morris and Jack Morris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Morris; and two sisters, Barbara King and Carole Valesky.

The family has suggested memorial tributes be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Road, Greenville, PA 16125, or to the Reynolds VFW Post, 115 Edgewood Dr, Greenville, PA 16125.

Service: 5 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Eric M. Peters officiating.
