Richard "Dick" Fenton Obituary

Richard "Dick" Fenton, 77, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday night, Aug. 29, 2023, at Sharon Regional Medical Center in Sharon.

He was born in Greenville on Dec. 23, 1945, to the late Earl E. and June E. (McGrath) Fenton, Sr.

Dick was a graduate of Reynolds High School and a life member, for over 50 years, of the West Salem Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a former member of the Jamestown VFD, as well as the Fireman's Club. He currently held memberships with the Greenville VFW, Italian Home Club, Greenville Sportsman Club, and was also involved with other area sportsman clubs.

He was also very involved with Greenville Baseball Boosters, every year since the team's inaugural season in 2015. And for the past 24 years, he very much enjoyed helping with the "Rick, Duke, and John" annual game dinner.

He was married to Kathryn A. (Kline) Fenton on May 13, 1967, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 2018.

Dick is survived by two sons, Craig Fenton and his wife, Nicole, and Corry Fenton and his wife, Carol, all of Hermitage; seven grandchildren, Peircen Fenton and his wife, Jessa, Joseph Fenton, Ashleigh Evans and her husband Brandon, Brooke Miller and her husband, Kegan, Hunter Bresnan and his wife, Ava, Jessica Fenton, and Chrissy Ammer; four great-grandchildren, Hayleigh Evans, Hayden Evans, Avery Fenton, and Knox Miller; a brother-in-law, Curt Kline and his wife, Donna, of Pittsburgh; a brother, Earl E. Fenton, Jr., and his wife, Charlotte, of Greenville; a sister, Betty J. Rutter and her husband, Richard "Duke," of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a great grandchild, Baby Evans.
