Renate L. Toth, née Geiberger, 87, of Hempfield Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at UPMC Jameson in New Castle.

She was born on Feb. 6, 1937, in Ludwigshafen, Germany, to Ludwig Geiberger and Elisabeth Heilig.

Renate went on to graduate from the business academy in Ludwigshafen, and worked as a secretary for a German

pharmaceutical company. She also worked for a German law firm.

She met her husband, Chuck, in Mannheim, Germany, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army. Renate and Chuck were married on Nov. 28, 1958, and she came to the United States in 1965.

From 1967 to 1997, she worked at Thiel College as an office manager.

She was an active member of St. Michael's Church in Greenville and volunteered in the Rectory of Saint Michael, Resurrection Choir, and the Good Shepherd Center.

She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, entertaining patients in nursing homes with music and songs, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith (David) Moats of Sharon, two grandchildren, Patrick (Caitlin) Moats of Sharon, and Courtney (Kevin) Hollis of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Klaus Geiberger.
