Regis DeWayne Knauff, age 85, of Transfer, Pa., formerly of Hermitage, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.

Regis married Betty Lou (King) Knauff on Nov. 12, 1960.

Regis was born in Leesburg, Pa., on May 23, 1935, to Paul and Leona (Rudolph) Knauff.

Regis graduated from Mercer High School.

He served in the United States Army and retired from a 35-year career at Bell Telephone as part of the "Think Tank" as a chief switchman.

His love for construction, electrical and engineering enabled him to help out numerous family members and friends.

He continued to give back to his community through volunteer work at the YMCA, various churches and the Pregnancy Center. Anyone who knew Regis knew he had a love for the farm and for watching the cows graze in the field.

The Lord was gracious to Regis and Betty as they were able to travel the world with YWAM, Habitat for Humanity and other short-term mission trips to Spain, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia and Mexico.

Regis passed two weeks to the day of losing his beloved wife of 60 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Patti (Mark) Williams, of Hinsdale, N.Y.; son, Jeffrey (Barbara) Knauff, of Transfer, Pa.; daughters, Kelly Goelz, of West Middlesex, Pa., Krista (Butchie) Zec, of Cranberry Township, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Regis was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sharon and more recently Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage.
