Ashburn, Virginia - Paul Dean Chadderton, 92, of 44715 Audubon Square, #207, Ashburn, Va., passed away peacefully at Loudoun Hospital, Leesburg, Va. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026.

Paul was born in Mercer, on Feb. 6, 1933, the son of Harry James Chadderton and Sarah Barbara McIntyre.

Paul was a 1950 graduate of Sharon High School. He attended Youngstown College for one year and was an Honorary Alumnus of Penn State University.He owned and operated Ed Chadderton Trucking Inc. until selling it in 1993. He also owned and operated another trucking company, Ohio Intra Express Inc., in Niles, Ohio.

An Army veteran, Paul served as a Sergeant in the Korean conflict and was stationed in Göppingen, Germany (1953-1955). After his return, he married Eleanor Grace Merchant on Aug. 20, 1955.

He was a generous supporter of Penn State University's Shenango Campus, and he worked many hours on fundraising events. He was an Advisory Board Member and Co-chair of the Development Board. He was a long-time member of New Virginia United Methodist Church and was involved in many community organizations including the Shenango Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Mercer County, McDowell National Bank (now PNC), Sharon Elks Club, Farrell Lions Club, Masonic Lodge #38, was a member of Sharon Country Club and Oak Tree Country Club.

Paul moved to Virginia in 2018 to be near his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a great sense of humor, always telling jokes and making people laugh, even on his last day!

He is survived by 2 daughters, Terri (Kenneth Ortner) Leigh Chadderton, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Amy (Ricardo) Lynn Chadderton Cadenas, Chantilly, Va.; six granddaughters, Tasha Lynn, Amber Nicole, Megan Michele, Elena Christine, Stephanie Lynn, Jessica Ann; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eleanor; seven siblings; and a daughter, Paula Sue Vinzant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Community Food Warehouse, 109 S. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, or the New Virginia United Methodist Church, 1100 S. Keel Ridge Rd., Hermitage.
