Patricia Mae Sherbondy, 84, of Greenville, passed away peacefully Nov. 11, 2021, after a brief illness.

Patricia was born on Dec. 9, 1936, in Greenville, to Robert and Harriett (Spano) Ross. She was married to Paul Sherbondy on Sept. 6, 1959. They were married for 18 years. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1977.

Patricia graduated from the former Penn High School in 1954. As a young adult, she worked at Schuster's Motel and the Italian Home Club in Greenville. Later in life, she devoted her career to helping people. She worked as an aid for over 10 years for UPMC Home Health.

She was a compassionate, loving, funny, and thoughtful woman that always put others before herself.

Patricia, also known as "Grandma Kook," loved her animals, tending to her plants, keeping up to date on her soap operas, and attending church. She enjoyed her daily phone calls with her cousin Barb, spending Friday's at the Salvation Army with her friends, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Patricia loved Sunday family dinners, spending each holiday laughing and playing cards with her loved ones, and relaxing on her back patio on sunny afternoons. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything.

A word of advice that Patricia would often offer was "It's a great life if you don't weaken." She lived her life exemplifying those words. Through whatever challenges that life gave her, she always found a way to keep her head up and continue moving forward. She will continue to inspire her loved ones to live life the same way.

She is survived by three daughters, Toni Hovis of Niles, Ohio; Judi (Jeffrey) DeSilva of Greenville; and Tami Cianci of Sharpsville; a son, James Sherbondy, of Cocoa, Fla.; a brother, James (Judy) Ross of Greenville; four grandchildren, Nicole Jennings, Elisabeth Beppler, Valerie DeSilva, and Maxwell Cianci; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Leia Beppler.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
