Slippery Rock, PA - On July 8, 2026, Pat J. Farrone, 90, of Slippery Rock, treasured husband, father, and "Poppa," was welcomed into Heaven.
Born on July 27, 1935, in New Castle, Pat was the beloved son of Patsy and Frances Farrone, and older brother to Carol Bauman and Mary Ann Lastoria.
Following his high school graduation, Pat earned his bachelor of arts degree, followed by his master's degree, both at Westminster College.
Pat went on to receive an additional master's in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Pat found his calling as the CEO and president of a large nonprofit residential community, George Junior Republic ("GJR"), dedicated to helping youth and children to overcome the most challenging of situations.
During his time with GJR, spanning 40 years, Pat helped transform the lives of thousands of youth, truly making the world a better place for them.
His compassion and care for those entrusted to his organization shone through in everything he did, as he built a comprehensive community for troubled youth.
Both professionally and personally, Pat was a man of remarkable integrity and great faith.
He was a devout Roman Catholic, being a member of St. Faustina Parish, St. Peter Church.
In addition, Pat had the honor of being instrumental in building the Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City, where he was a faithful parishioner for most of his life.
He loved God with all his heart, and sought to emulate Christ as he faithfully served his community, his work and all those in his life.
Pat was an avid golfer and loved engaging in competitive games of all kinds with his family and friends.
Pat enjoyed travel and spending winters in Naples, Fla.
Moreover, Pat was an excellent listener and a source of encouragement and strength for his loved ones and all those blessed to know him. His family was of the utmost importance to him.
Pat is survived by his wife and best friend of 62 years, the love of his life, Justine, to whom he was deeply devoted.
He is also survived by his four children, Michelle (Glenn) Rengers, Patrick Brian Farrone (Jeffrey Aromatorio), Suzanne (Matthew) Vogel and Marissa Andreen; two grandchildren, Sienna (Noah) Jones and Reilly Andreen; his sisters, Carol (Dennis) Bauman and Mary Ann Lastoria; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Michael Bauman.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter Church, Slippery Rock, or St. Jude Research Hospital are welcomed.
