Grove City, Pa. - Opaline R. Young, 99, of Grove City, formerly of Harrisville, passed peacefully on Saturday morning, May 9, 2026, in Grove Manor.

Opaline was born in Marion Township., Butler County, on July 30, 1926, a twin of 13 children born to John C. and Amelda Mae (Boyd) McFadden. She married Richard Arnold Young on Feb. 8, 1947; he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 2000.

Opaline attended Wesley High School, and she was a longtime member at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Harrisville.

She was a homemaker and she was a well-known accomplished landscape and still-life artist in the area. Opaline was a past president of the Harrisville Art Club.

She is survived by her son, Richard A. (Carol) Young, and a grandson Jacob Young, all Jamestown. Many nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

Opaline is preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven sisters, her twin Marlene McClearn, Geraldine Locktosh, Wilda Hovis, Martha Lowers, Carole Depew, Barbara Deemer, and Isabelle Sweetapple; five brothers, Audley, Robert, Perry, Richard, and Darl McFadden.
