Nora  Day
Nora Day, 78, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., died the evening of Feb. 6, 2020, in Visiting Nurses and Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne, due to an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 9, 1941, in Mercer to Andromeda Kays Wininsky and Stephen Tomajko, both deceased.
She graduated from Hickory High School in 1959, then received her bachelor degree from Eastern Baptist College.
After that she received her masters degree in social work from Shippensburg University.
She was employed as an Allegheny County juvenile probation officer for 38 years.
Nora enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, helping them with their homework, helping animals, playing slots, writing, discussing politics, watching The Bachelor, and most of all helping anyone who needed any kind of help.
She is survived by her daughters Angela Day, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Laurie Day of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Neil Day, of Ft. Wayne; sisters, Linda Delgros of Sharon, Abby Tomajko of Sharon, Elona Tinkel of Phoenix, Ariz., Jennifer Underwood of Albuquerque, N.M., Polly Tiege of Sin Valley, Calif., Sylvia Wininsky of Tempe, Ariz.; brothers, Stanley and Nick Wininsky, both of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Adam Day of Minneapolis, Minn., Brilee Day of Fort Wayne, Camden Day of Fort Wayne, and Julian Taylor of Tokyo, Japan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Day, whom she married Jan. 15, 1966, and who passed away June 22, 1996; a son, Charles Day; and two brothers, Terry Tomajko and Dan Wininsky.

Nora, 78, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Visitation: 3 p.m. to the time of service Wednesday (2-12-20) in JOHN FLYNN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 2630 E. State St., Hermitage.
Funeral service: 5 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel.
