Nancy Lee Allen Obituary

Nancy Lee Allen, 87, of Grove City, formerly of Maple Drive, Hermitage, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2025 in Grove Manor.

Nancy, a twin, was born April 17, 1937, to Elnor E. (Wible) and William H. Allen in Oil City.

She was born six-weeks premature and weighing just three pounds seven ounces; her parents were told she would not live long. However, much love, respect, and care contributed to her long life of nearly 88 years.

Nancy's abilities served her well as she had enhanced hearing and a great memory.

Nancy worked as a shredder for the Keystone Blind Association. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon.

She received the George Herm award, given to a blind employee who embodies the spirit of personal growth and the ability to adapt constructively to vision loss.

She took great pride as a master run weaver, creating beautiful tapestries for loved ones and to sell. She enjoyed being a member of the bowling Bears.

Nancy loved figure skating and rooting for the Steelers.

Nancy leaves behind her twin sister, Norma Jean Seifrick and brother-in-law John M. Seifrick of Dallas, Texas; niece, Joni Seifrick; nephew, John A. Seifrick, wife Ann and their family; sister, Hattie Sue Baker of Humble, Texas; nephew, Michael M. Baker, wife Tracy and their family Taylor, Gains and Hallie; nephew Joseph A. Baker, wife Romy; Jake Baker; and sister, Marcia Allen Barlett, of Grove City, who has been a special caregiver to Nancy for the last two decades.

She also leaves behind her special companion Cindy Hodge, Doreen Ward, Delores Carrol, and the caring staff at Grove Manor who became her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, James Harrison Wible and Margaret Wible, with whom she lived for two years; and her brothers-in-law, Joe M. Baker and Gerald Barlett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon or Grove Manor Christian Loving Fund PO Box 1055 Franklin, PA 16323.
