Mildred 'Millie' Elaine Kearney, age 68, of New Castle, passed away the morning of July 26, 2021, at her residence.

Born Nov. 20, 1952, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Douglas H. and Ruth M. (Metz) Shaw.

On Sept. 20, 1975, Millie married her beloved husband of 45 years, James Kearney. He survives at home.

Millie was a graduate of Avalon High School. She completed her undergraduate degree at Clarion University and went on to earn her master's degree at Slippery Rock University, in Speech Pathology. She worked as a speech therapist for Farrell Area School District. Millie was an educator who loved to sew and bake, but what gave her the most joy in life was spending time with her family. She attended Calvary Independent Church.

In addition to her husband, James, Millie is survived by her three sons, Matt Kearney of New Castle, PA, Sean Kearney of Jacksonville, FL, and Tim (Elena) Kearney of Baden, PA.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David H. Shaw.

Memorial service: 4 p.m. immediately after visitation at the funeral home, with Rev. Chuck Fombelle, of Calvary Independent Church, officiating.
