West Middlesex, PA - Michael Anthony Montana, 83, of West Middlesex, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at UPMC Shenango.

Michael was the epitome of a devoted husband, father, grandpapa, and great-grandad.

Born March 25, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Michael lived a full and meaningful life guided by adventure, curiosity, and a deep love of family.

A man of remarkable intelligence, he earned a master's degree in biochemical engineering and built a distinguished career with Pfizer and Bristol Myers Squibb.

Wherever he called home, Michael left his mark. During his years in Wayne, N.J., he proudly served his community as board member and chairman of the Planning Board, reflecting his commitment to giving back and shaping the place he lived.

Michael's passions were as wide as the skies he loved to fly.

Whether traveling across the country on road trips, piloting his beloved Piper Cub, fishing out on a lake, observing the stars above, or simply riding his lawn mower, he cherished the freedom of movement and the joy of discovery.

His love of aviation transformed into a hobby of building model airplanes.

No matter the hobby, Michael ensured that his interests and passions were shared, creating meaningful memories that are cherished by his entire family.

Michael was, to put it plainly, a host at heart.

Known for his sharp memory and endless stories, he made sure everyone was always entertained.

He was an excellent chef and made sure that anyone who came by was welcomed with a spread of comforting dishes.

From family gatherings to casual visits, Michael made sure no one ever left his home hungry.

Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, he was often asked to lend it to meaningful occasions and delighted in singing for his family.

Above all, Michael's heart belonged to his family and especially to his wife, Alice.

From the moment they met in 1962, through their wedding in 1966, and in the 59 years of marriage that followed, his love and devotion to her never wavered.

He is survived by his wife Alice (Webster); his daughters Lisa (Darren) Fribence; and Ellen (John) Joyce; his son Michael H. Montana; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday (9-27-25) at Unity Presbyterian Church, 1857 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, Mercer.

Funeral service: 3 p.m. Saturday in the church, with Pastor Jim Moose officiating.

Following the service, friends are invited for dinner at the church.

Interment: Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, N.J.
