Merrell L. (Wheaton) Reinhart, formerly of Shook Road, Hadley, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in St. John Lutheran Senior Care Center, Mars, Pa. She was 77.

She was born in Ravenswood, W.Va., on May 15, 1939, a daughter of Gertrude (Pease) and Clarence Wheaton.

She married Harry J. Reinhart on June 20, 1964. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Merrell was self-employed as a sales representative for Avon for 30 years and was also a homemaker. She volunteered for the Sheakleyville Fire Department's annual Homecoming and Chicken Pie Supper.

But what she really offered to everyone was herself. Merrell was kind and loving; she really enjoyed people, opening her home to everyone. She would often brag about her daughters and was always there for her grandchildren. She attended church at North Salem Wesleyan, and was also a member of their book club.

Merrell is survived by her daughters, Shirley Spiegel and her husband Ronald, Hadley; and Melissa Foust and her companion David Thompson, Harrisville; a brother, Johnny M. Wheaton and his wife Karen, Jackson Center; and two grandchildren, Rayna LeAnn Foust and Justin Donald Foust.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Merrell Sue Reinhart; three sisters, Berle M. Augustine, Mary Juanita Wheaton and Ireta M. Best; and a brother, Darrell E. Wheaton.
