At age 81, Maxine Valerie (Watts) Amos of Stoneboro passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2024.
Maxine was born in Stoneboro on March 3, 1943, to the late Delbert (Tim) and Bertha (Barb) Watts.
She was a 1961 graduate of Lakeview High School.
She retired from Polk State Hospital, where she worked in personnel and administration.
Maxine was active in the community where she volunteered for the Stoneboro Fireman Ladies' Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels for many years.
She was a long-time member of Stoneboro Presbyterian Church, where she served in several roles, including elder, deacon, and choir director.
She enjoyed singing, playing bingo, coloring, reading, playing cards, and spending time at the McQuiston Senior Center.
Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She was the beloved mother of Tracy Grandelis of Houston, Pa., and Tim (Beth) Amos of Stoneboro; grandmother to Dane (Liz) Grandelis, Max (Liz) Grandelis, Nate (Sami Leddy) Grandelis, and Jacob (Kendra Bollard) Amos; great-grandmother to Roselle, Etta, Madelyn, and Makayla; and aunt to several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Watts.

Services: Following visitation in the funeral home with the Rev. Beth Creekpaum officiating.
Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery.
