Mary Magdalena Krutsch Schmidt, Vienna, Ohio, passed away March 25, 2025 after a brief illness surrounded by the family who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. She was 81.

She was born July 28, 1943, in Sharon, a daughter of Anthony and Mary Lamb Krutsch.

Mary was married to John Philip Schmidt, they have three children, Melissa Schmidt (Dave Ramsey), Kathleen (Tim) Hensley, Pamela Schmidt (Kris Clemente) and five beautiful grandchildren who she adored; Caitlin, Colin, Gavin, Annabelle and Asher.

She also leaves her siblings, Loretta Krutsch and Anton (Patty) Krutsch.

Two siblings, Alice Katakowski and Theresa Basile, preceded her in death.

Mary was an elementary education teacher who earned her degree from Villa Maria College (Gannon University) and earned a Master of Health Education from Penn State University. She retired from teaching in the Youngstown Diocese.

Mary was active in the Brookfield Women's Club and at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.

Mary loved her family, making memories and having fun with them. The annual family vacation was to the ocean and was her favorite, having her daughters and grandchildren all together.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mary's name to American Cancer Society is requested.
