Irwin Township, Pennsylvania - Mary Louise "Lou" (Martin) Riddle of Irwin Township, Venango County, was born Dec. 11, 1936, in Clintonville. She was the daughter of the late Eleanor G. Sterrett Martin and Elton L. Martin.

She was married April 20, 1957, to Wayne E. Riddle in the Union Presbyterian Church, Clintonville.

She attended Clintonville Elementary School and graduated from Grove City High School class of 1954. She was also a graduate of Robert Morris University in the Stenographic School class of 1955.

Mary Lou was an active member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church serving as a Deacon and Secretary of Presbyterian Women. She also sang in the choir.

Mrs. Riddle retired from the Franklin Area Schools after serving as an aide for 30 years at the Victory Elementary School.

She was a past member of the Clintonville Women's Club having served as President and Secretary. Mrs. Riddle also served as Secretary of the Clintonville High School Alumni Association. She served as Republican Committee Woman of Irwin Township as well as Judge of Election and was inducted into the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and served as Queen Mother.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was so proud of their many achievements. She enjoyed her church activities, singing, entertaining and playing cards.

She is survived by her five children, Steven W. (Mary Jo), Saltsburg, Mary Ann (Randall) Ackerman, Waynesboro, Gale M., Elwood City, Mark D. (Kathleen), Manassas Park, Va., and Andrew W. (Kristen), Spring Mills. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren including Stephanie (Mike) Klingensmith, Matthew (Brigette) Riddle, Scott (Katie) Ackerman, Tyler (Autumn) Ackerman, Jane (Ben) Hawkins, John (Ashley) Riddle, Hunter Riddle, Madison Riddle, Gracie Riddle and Callie Riddle; nine great-grandchildren, Weston and Cole Ackerman, Ilana and Phoebe Hawkins, Charlotte and Alaina Klingensmith, Mary (Emme) Marie and Jackson Riddle, and Ella Riddle; one brother, Richard Martin of Greenwood, Ind., four sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law Jean Walter, Helen Emmett and Lois and Gerry Shipton, all of Grove City, and Martha Riddle, Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and in-laws, Warren and Margaret Riddle; she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Riddle; her sister Dorothy Meals; one brother, William Martin; several sisters and brothers-in-law, including Elda and Lawrence Montgomery, David Walter, Robert Emmett, Earl and Bonnie Riddle, Stanley Riddle, Gale Riddle, Lester Meals and Shirley Martin; one nephew and one niece.
