Mary Jane King Obituary

Mary Jane King, 93, a resident of The Heritage at St. Paul's, formerly of 11 Hughey Road, Otter Creek Township, passed away on Thursday evening (Aug. 8, 2019) at The Heritage.

She was born in Hadley on Nov. 26, 1925, to Forest and

Effie (Riggleman) Clawges.

Jane attended Hadley High School and worked in physical therapy at St. Paul's, where she retired.

She was a member of Greenville Alliance Church and a former member of Jerusalem Church, where she served on the board of Christian education, and was the former treasurer of the Friendship Circle.

She enjoyed playing in card clubs and spending time with her family.

Jane was married to John Whitlatch in 1961; he preceded her in death in 1978. She then married Frank King in 1980; he also preceded her in death in 2002.

She is survived by: three daughters, Peggy Miller and her husband, Robert, Greenville, Linda McWilliams and her husband, Robert, Erie, and Cathy Campbell and her husband, Thomas, Meadville; two stepsons, Arthur Leroy King and his wife, Carol, Mercer, and Jeffrey Allen King, Sharon; a sister, Virginia Filer and her husband, Joseph, Grove City; five grandchildren, Robert Miller and his wife, Barbara, Thomas Campbell and his wife, Marla, Christopher Campbell, Stephanie Carlson and her husband, Terry, and Wesley McWilliams and his wife, Ashley; six great-grandchildren;

several step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Martha Byler.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by: a stepson, Gerald King; two brothers, Owen B. Clawges, and John Clawges; and five sisters, Betty Fry, Edna Mattocks, Nina Neighbour, Ethel Baker, and Margaret Pierson.

Mary Jane, 93, formerly of Otter Creek Township.

Calling hours: Friends may visit for an hour prior to the service.

Service: 2 p.m. Saturday (8-17-19) in the Anderson Fellowship Hall at the Heritage at St. Paul's, 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, with Rev. Nathan Seckinger and/or Rev. Jerry Hunter, both of Greenville Alliance Church, officiating. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the service.

Cremains will be buried at Hadley Cemetery.
