Mary S. Frank Mulligan Obituary
Sharon, PA - Mary S. (Bell) Frank Mulligan, 83, of Sharon, formerly of Meadville, passed away Tuesday evening, June 2, 2026, in UPMC Magee Women's Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mary was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Sharon, a daughter of the late John F. and Christine E. (Wittenauer) Bell.
She was a 1961 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and attended Youngstown State University.
Mary then attended Choffin School in Youngstown, Ohio, and later the Chicago School of Floral Design, completing her training and certification as a floral designer.
A talented florist, Mary began her career at MacKenzie Square in Youngstown, Ohio, and later worked for several local florists, notably Cottage Gardens in Hermitage, Weingartner's in New Castle, Patrick Henry in New Wilmington, and Avenue and Vine in Sharon.
Mary was of the Catholic faith.
Her lifelong love of animals led to her passion for rescuing many cats throughout the years, most of them becoming her own beloved pets.
Mary's love for florals followed her home, where she kept a beautiful garden and lovingly maintained her landscape.
She also enjoyed spending time outdoors while birding, hiking, and walking.
Mary's greatest love was spending time with her beloved grandchildren, especially while attending their many activities or sporting events.
Her first husband, Anthony J. Frank, whom she married on Sept. 8, 1962, preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1985.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Toni Lynn Elisco (Dr. Mark), of Burghill, Ohio; a son, Brian Frank (Kathy), of Virginia; a sister, Patricia Kizak (Don), of Hermitage; eight grandchildren, Isabella and Francesca Elisco, Adam Zola, Kaylee Kondos, Samantha Frank, Alicia Primak, Tiffany Dix, and Brianna Frank; six great-grandchildren, Owen, Madison, Carter, Hayden, Joshua and Jacob; and her former spouse, Thomas Mulligan, Meadville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Kondos; two grandsons, Jeffrey Moroco and Kane Kondos; and a sister, Janice Bell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Road, Greenville, PA 16125.
