Grove City, PA - Mary Louise "Mary Lou" (Coleman) Alberth, 97, of Grove City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

She was born on April 27, 1928, in the Village of Millbrook, Worth Township, Mercer County, to Samuel Wesley and Gertrude Mildren (Smith) Coleman.

Mary Lou married James Alberth on Aug. 27, 1947, in Harbison Chapel at Grove City College. Mary Lou and Jim were married almost 45 years. Jim died in February of 1993.

Mary Lou worked part-time and kept books for several businesses in both Ohio and Grove City.

She was a lifelong Pirates fan. Mary Lou attended games both in Bradenton and Pittsburgh but mostly enjoyed watching her Pirates on television. Mary Lou also enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bridge clubs.

One of the things Mary Lou was most proud of was her travel across the United States and Europe.

She often remarked when she reminisced about her trips that she had a very blessed life.

Mary Lou was a devoted member of Tower Presbyterian Church.

She leaves behind two sons, Michael Alberth, Liberty Township, Ohio, and David (VellaRuth) Alberth, Cranberry Township; and one daughter Kathy (Jeff) Gilliland, Grove City; four grandchildren, Sara (Alex) Delgado, Jamie (Ryan) Eggert, Jesse Alberth and Jeremy Alberth; five great-grandchildren, Alejandro, Isabela, and Santiago Delgado and Jack and Ava Eggert; and a sister, Ruth McKinley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, as well as her parents and many brothers- and sisters-in-law of the Alberth and McKinley families.

Funeral service: Noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial: Crestview Memorial Park.
