There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, in Corner House Christian Church in Hubbard for Margaret "Peg" E. Adkins of Hubbard, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, in Liberty Health Care Center. She was 88.
Mrs. Adkins was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Hubbard, the middle child of John P. and Annie Laurie Gale Roskie.
She was a 1946 graduate of Hubbard High School and a lifelong area resident.
She worked at O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home in nursing for many years, retiring in 2000.
Margaret was a lifelong member of Corner House Christian Church in Hubbard, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and a former deaconess.
She was a 51-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Hartford No. 518 and a past matron.
Peg married Vinson R. Adkins on May 2, 1947, and together they raised three children, Bruce A. Adkins, Marion L. Sandor and Vinson "Bob" Adkins.
She will be sadly missed by her family; her daughter, Marion (Michael) Sandor, Girard, Ohio; her son, Vinson R. (Phyllis) Adkins, Taylorstown, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She also leaves her brothers, John Gale Roskie, Ocala, Fla.; and Raymond (Lorraine) Roskie, Wheatland.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her son Bruce Adkins; her grandsons, Benjamin and Justin; her sister, Virginia Seelye; and her brother, Glenn Roskie.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at The Countryside at Elmwood and MVI Hospice and Liberty Health Care for all of the love and care they showed Peg.
