West Middlesex, PA - Lynne E. Powell, 76, of West Middlesex, was called home by the angels on the peaceful morning of July 17, 2025.

She was born to Margaret McEachern and Elroy Powell on Jan. 3, 1949, in Sharon.

She was a proud graduate of West Middlesex High School and Geneva College.

Even though she had a robust career, she remained humble.

Rather than list her many work accomplishments, she simply told her grandsons many times: "I worked 52 years of my life," which permitted her the perks of retirement.

The biggest joy in her life was her daughter and grandsons.

She talked to her daughter every day, never missing a moment in the lives of her grandsons. The best title she received in life was being called "Grammie."

Whether it was swimming with dolphins, traveling, seeing the Rolling Stones in concert, or just watching wrestling, she was so happy to be sharing these moments and making memories with her grandsons.

To her daughter, she was the most giving, smartest, patient, and calmest person she knew. Lynne and her daughter shared a special bond.

Erin will miss her advice and words of wisdom.

She also loved making memories with her best friends that she had since childhood. They would take crazy road trips and go to the beach together.

The "Golden Girls" always had the best times and the funniest stories.

Lynne quietly battled metastatic breast cancer for five years. She did not let the diagnosis define her.

She was stoic, brave, and strong throughout her fight. She always did what her team asked. Even when she entered hospice, she was still fighting.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Erin Bain; and grandsons, Alec and Maxx Bain, Sharpsville, who were the light of her life.

She also leaves behind her two grand-dogs, Harley and Mickey, who miss Gram's snuggles, her special songs for them, and eating her food.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-father, Valentine J. Fumich; a brother, Ronald E. Powell I; and her nephew, Ronald E. Powell II.

Visitation: 5 p.m. until the funeral service Tuesday (7-22-25) at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex.

Funeral service: 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
