Linda Diane Forrest Obituary

Linda Diane Forrest, 73, of Slippery Rock, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, after a short illness.

She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Born on April 1, 1951, in Grove City, she was the daughter of the late Thomas West Rodemoyer and Leona Mary (Martin) Knight.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1969 and Butler County Community College in 1971.

Linda worked as a secretary at Slippery Rock University for over 36 years, retiring from the Special Education Department in 2014 after helping thousands of students navigate their way through college.

Linda was a woman of faith, and she was an active member of First Baptist Church in Grove City.

She was also a regular at the YMCA in Grove City, where she had a wonderful group of friends. In her words, they were "her people." Linda enjoyed laughing and dining out with her friends.

Her family is thankful for the help and prayers that her caring church family and dear friends provided over the past several months.

Throughout the 1970s and '80s, Linda was a talented and prolific ceramics painter, and for over the past 20 years, she was a gifted quilt maker, giving many beautiful quilts to friends and family.

Linda also enjoyed travel, especially her annual summer trip to go thrifting and antiquing in Ohio. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her much-loved family.

Linda leaves behind her children and their spouses, Matthew (Jeana) Forrest of Gray, Ga.; and Katie (Tyler) Davis of Williamsburg, Va.; her precious grandchildren Rebecca, Rachel, Daniel, and Bridget Forrest; her brothers Gaylord (Debi) Rodemoyer of Grove City; and Edward (Jean) Rodemoyer of Butler; her sisters, Patricia Rodemoyer of Slippery Rock; and Tamara (Jim) Rothenberger of Jonestown; her nephews and nieces, Emily Rodemoyer, Tom Rodemoyer, Christopher Rodemoyer, and Lauren Rothenberger; and a great-nephew, Gunner.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Grove City.
