Kyle F. Voorhees Obituary

Kyle F. Voorhees, Sandy Lake, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Oct. 28, 2020, at his residence. He was 60.

Kyle was born in Grove City on Dec. 18, 1959, a son of Emil B. "Dutch" and Beverly J. (Carlson) Voorhees. He was a 1978 graduate of Lakeview High School and then embarked on a career as a bricklayer with B.A.C. Local 9 of Western Pennsylvania.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many trips fishing and hunting with his family. He always treasured the times that he was able to fish with his Uncle Denny Carlson on the many fishing trips to Canada.

He was a music buff who enjoyed playing the guitar for his own enjoyment. The Beatles were his favorite group. He had the ability to amaze people with his knowledge of the lyrics for any song that was played from almost any era.

He is remembered for his great sense of humor and was always a pleasure to be around.

Kyle had discovered a small Caribbean Island, Isla Mujeres, which he would often frequent, where he was able to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the great natural wealth that it offered.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Beverly J. Voorhees, Sandy Lake; a sister, Kim E. (Doug) Zurawski, Pittsburgh; two brothers, Mark B. Voorhees, Sandy Lake, and Matt B. (Violet) Voorhees, Newport News, VA.; two uncles, Dennis W. Carlson, Stoneboro, and Ronald L. (Pati) Voorhees, Stoneboro; a niece, Summer Neal; a nephew, Mark A. (Mary) Voorhees and several step-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emil "Dutch" Voorhees.
