Katie Melinda Albanese
Katie Melinda Rohland Albanese of Hermitage, born March 11, 1958, in a Kinston, N.C., hospital and adopted shortly thereafter by William and Lucy Elaine Rohland, lost her fight with cancer at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 25, 2020) in her residence.
Katie attended Oakwood Elementary School in Pittsburgh, and then attended and graduated from Hickory High School in 1976.
Katie worked for various car production factories including ATC in Geneva, Ohio, and retired in August from UAJC (formerly PennTechQ) in Transfer, after 26 years. From 1992-1994 she worked for Farrell Area School District as a school bus driver, and enjoyed driving the students to and from their football games and band performances.
Katie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and wife.
She is survived by: her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Michael Albanese; her daughter, Michele Elaine Albanese Tota, son-in-law, Joseph Tota, and two grandsons, Gage Michael and Levi Jackson; and her stepson, Michael Albanese, Jr. and his wife, Susan, and grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary, Kobe, and Cordelia Albanese.
Katie truly enjoyed her grandchildren, and was so proud of the young adults her older grandchildren were growing up to be.
She was preceded in death by: her mother and father, William and Lucy Elaine Rohland, both of Kinston, (also formerly of the Hermitage area); and her sister, Jennifer Marie Rohland Frank.
