Mercer, PA - Kathleen Murrell Cassidy, 78, of Mercer, passed away peacefully on Oct. 15, 2025, at home with hospice.

She was born on Jan. 10, 1947, in Swalwell, England, to Albert and Mary Alice (Pike) Murrell.

At age 17 she ventured to Seville, Spain, to work as an English nanny.

There she met the love of her life, Robert Cassidy of Mercer. They were married on June 21, 1970, and just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Cathy worked in retail sales for many years while raising two daughters.

She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandkids, sewing, crafting, bird watching, and puzzles.

Cathy looked forward to yearly cruises with her sister, Dorothy.

She is survived by her husband, Rob; two daughters, Tracy Cassidy (Dan Klinedinst) and Jennifer Cassidy; sisters, Joan Kusich and Sheila Pratt, United Kingdom, and Mary Shaw, Australia; brother, Ken Murrell, United Kingdom; grandchildren, Holden and Lyra Klinedinst; several beloved in-laws; and extended family here and in the United Kingdom.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Vera Shaw.

In lieu of flowers, Cathy requested contributions in her name to the World Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice.
