Hermitage, Pennsylvania - Kathleen Brown, 82, formerly of Hermitage, passed away Sunday evening, June 1, 2025, in Arden Courts ProMedica Memory Care Community, Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Brown was born on Feb. 18, 1943, in Sharon, the daughter of the late Edward and Anne (Mehalko) Winslow Sr. A graduate of Sharon High School, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Pennsylvania State University, State College, and a Master's Degree from Westminster College, New Wilmington.
She spent her career working as a reading specialist and teacher in the Sharon School District, retiring with more than 30 years of service. Her love for reading was reflected in her commitment to the Community Library of the Shenango Valley, where she volunteered for many years.
Her husband of 32 years, William "Punk" Brown, whom she married on Dec. 13, 1975, passed away on Oct. 2, 2008. Together, they shared many vacations, traveling extensively within the United States and internationally.
Kathleen also enjoyed cooking, gardening, needlepoint, and walking in Buhl Park, especially with her late dog, Jasper.
Kathleen's family would like to thank all of the caregivers who assisted her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Community Library of the Shenango Valley, 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon.
She is survived by four brothers, Edward (Patricia) Winslow Jr., Hermitage, Lawrence Winslow, London, Ohio, Thomas Winslow, Lakeland, Florida, and Gary (Alice Bernat) Winslow, Syracuse, New York. Kathleen had numerous nieces and nephews.
