Joyce Gail Algoe, 89, of Hermitage, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024.
Joyce was born May 18, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter to Ralph W. and Vernys (Cowdery) John.
She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1952 and from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1955.
She dedicated 35 years working as a nurse, first for Sharon General Hospital and later retiring from Northside Hospital. In addition, she worked with her husband in Algoe Studio of Photography as a retouch artist and receptionist.
Joyce was a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church, Ohio State Nurses Association, and General Duty Nurses Association.
Survivors include her sons, Terence (Sandra) Algoe, Hermitage, and Thomas Algoe, Adamsville, Pa.; grandson, Shawn (Rachel) Algoe; great-grandchildren, Owen and Avery Algoe; brother, Adrian (Sandra) John, Andover, Ohio; and best friend, Carolyn Werner Lewis.
Her husband, Walter, preceded her in death.
