Greenville, PA - Josephine J. White, 100, of Greenville, passed away peacefully following a brief illness Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in UPMC Hospital Greenville.
Josephine was born June 1, 1925, to Rose (Perna) and Luca Vivolo in Farrell. She was a 1945 graduate of Farrell High School.
During World War II, Josephine worked as a coil winder for Westinghouse.
On Aug. 11, 1950, she married her husband, the late Thomas White Jr. who passed away Nov. 21, 2005.
She was a member of the former St. Adelbert's Church in Farrell, where she was active in the Holy Rosary Society and perogi project.
Josephine also liked knitting and crocheting, and was known as a wonderful cook.
She leaves behind her best friend, Virginia Careghini. The two enjoyed shopping and raising their children together.
Josephine is survived by her son, Thomas "Chip" (Shirley) White III of Hermitage; and niece, Debbie (Jack) Kalmbacker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; sister, Jennie Lenzi; and brothers, Daniel Vivolo, Rocky Vivolo and Sam Vivolo.
The family would like to acknowledge the St. Paul's staff in Willows B, UPMC Hospice, and UPMC Hospital Greenville 3 MT unit for their care and compassion of Josephine.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of donors' choice in memory of Josephine.
Services: Private.
Interment: St. Rose Mausoleum.
