Stoneboro, PA - Joseph A. Sechler Jr., 78, Stoneboro, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, in Butler Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Joe was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Franklin to Joseph A. and Myrtle K. (Doutt) Sechler Sr.

He was a 1965 graduate of Franklin High School and retired from PennDOT after many years of service.

Joe was a lover of the outdoors and over the years enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid golfer and a very proficient bowler for many years.

He enjoyed watching sports on television, especially the Pittsburgh teams.

Most of all he loved his time spent with family, especially his granddaughters who fondly called him "Pappy."

He married Betty J. Whitehouse on Feb. 2, 1985, and she preceded him in death Feb. 7, 2012.

He is survived by a daughter, Lisa L. (Wes) Sefton; two granddaughters, Abigail and Amber Sefton; and a sister, Judy A. (Ralph) Readel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Daniel Sechler; and two nephews, Jeff Readel and Jeff "Chowder" Reiser.

Joseph A. Jr., 78, Stoneboro.

Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday (11-20-25) at ROSE and BLACK FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.

Funeral service: 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment: Center Cemetery, Polk.
