Hermitage, PA - Joseph C. Love, 96, of Hermitage, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, in his home.
Mr. Love was born on Aug. 31, 1929, in New Castle, a son of the late Joseph William and Katherine (Fitch) Love.
He went to New Castle schools and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting while studying at Washington and Jefferson College and Youngstown State University.
Joe also honorably served his country in the Army.
An intelligent man, he earned his CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and worked for 25 years at Sharon Tube, retiring as a controller.
He also served on the board of directors for the manufacturer.
Joe was of the Presbyterian faith.
A voracious reader, he was highly knowledgeable about politics and current events. Joe was also a certified pilot and flew for more than 25 years.
His wife of 71 years, the former Ramona J. Henry, whom he married on Sept. 1, 1953, passed away on Oct. 26, 2024.
He is survived by two daughters, Stacy Love and her husband, Dan Smith, of Bethel Park; and Valerie Hennessy and her husband, Tom, of Cortland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Joseph Daniel Smith and his wife, Samantha; and Samantha Kay Smith; and three step-grandchildren, Tom and Steve Hennessy, and Cathy Dilley.
In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Love.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Ave., Hermitage, PA 16148.
