New Wilmington, Pennsylvania - Joseph W Buckwalter Jr., 69, of New Wilmington, passed away at UPMC Shenango on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.
Born in New Castle, on Nov. 29, 1955, to the late Joseph W. and Shirley Maughan Buckwalter. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Alice Campbell Buckwalter.
A 1973 graduate of West Middlesex High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Slippery Rock University. During high school and after college, he worked with his father and family in building and operating the Wyngate Manor Mobile Home Park on Route 7 in Brookfield, Ohio. After the park was sold, he drove trucks, specializing in hauling oversized loads.
He was a member of the Neshannock Presbyterian Church and served terms as Elder and Clerk of Session.
In addition to his wife, Mary, survivors include a son, Clint (Chrissy) Buckwalter, New Wilmington; daughters Cassie Whitfield and Becky Buckwalter, both of Greenville; sisters Linda (Richard) Rippy, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Debra (Raymond) Broomall, Manassas, Virginia. Five grandsons and one granddaughter complete the family. He was preceded in death by both his parents, sister Patricia Houk and brother Terry (Flo) Buckwalter.
