Hermitage, PA - Joseph R. Aquino, 86, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle.

Mr. Aquino was born on Aug. 6, 1938, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late James and Theresa (Reda) Aquino.

He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was a 1956 graduate of Beaver Falls High School.

Following high school, he worked at his father's barber shop in Beaver Falls before enlisting in the Army Reserve.

His wife of 55 years, the former Louise M. Cortese, whom he married on April 24, 1964, in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Beaver, passed away on Nov. 24, 2019.

Together, they raised their two daughters on Tuscarawas Road in Beaver.

Joseph spent more than 40 years working as a salesman for the former International Mill Service, Midland.

In 1999, Joseph and Louise moved to Hermitage to be closer to their family.

Joseph was an active member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, where he served as an usher and on the food pantry and garden committees.

A devout Catholic, he was a 3rd Degree Knight and former Grand Knight in the Shenango Valley Knights of Columbus, Sharon.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. In his younger years, he meticulously cared for his property and was constantly gardening and landscaping.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Ellis and her husband, John Scott, of Hermitage; and Kelly Heinze, of Morristown, N.J.; and six grandchildren, Marie Louise Herman (Billy), Margaret Ann Ellis, and Zachary, Caleb, Amelia and Simone Heinze.

In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by a sister, Roseann Aquino.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Joseph's Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.

Mass of Christian burial: 12:30 p.m. Friday (7-18-25) in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, with Rev. James Power, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment service: 3 p.m. Friday in Beaver Cemetery.
