West Middlesex, PA - John W. Lawhead, 70, of West Middlesex, passed away on Oct. 16, 2025, after a lengthy, but brave, battle with cancer.
John was born on May 24, 1955, in Pittsburgh to the late Walter and Joyce (Leasure) Lawhead.
He spent his summers with his grandfather and uncle, Marshall and Bernard, in Everett, Pa., where he developed his lifelong love of hunting, farming, and tractors.
John's life was his centered around his family and his children, Lori and Matt, but especially his wife of 43 years, Carol.
They met at U.S. Steel and took their first date on his 26th birthday. They were devoted to each other since their wedding day on July 10, 1982.
John previously worked at U.S. Steel, Sharon Steel and PennDOT. After retirement, he drove a school bus for Watsons and Krise.
He will be remembered for his stories, humor, strong temperament, work ethic, ability to fix anything and love of a curse word.
He leaves behind his wife, Carol; daughter, Lori; son, Matt (Sarah); grandchildren, O'Connor and Abigail; grand-dog, Harrison; and sister-in-law, Pamela (John) Emry.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Daniel.
