Janet E. King Obituary

Janet E. King, age 74, of Slippery Rock, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 20, 2024, at her residence.

Born Nov. 10, 1950, in Monongahela, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Estella Pearl (Creighton) Zynosky.

She married the love of her life, Mark King. He survives at home.

Janet earned a dual degree from Youngstown State University and Slippery Rock University. For 20 years she was employed as a gym teacher and dietitian. She also worked at the YMCA for 16 years where she enjoyed a fulfilling career. Janet enjoyed crafting and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. She was a member of the American Heart Association and American Dietetic Association. What gave Janet the most joy in life, was spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.

In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by one daughter, Julie (Paul) Hudak of Ellwood City, PA; one brother, Robert Zynosky of Monessen, PA; and two grandsons, Alexander (Anna) Hudak and Joseph Hudak.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother Leland Zynosky and two sisters, Beverly Zynosky and Shirley Ladebue.

Visitation will be held on Sunday Nov. 24th from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105.

A funeral service will take place, at the funeral home, on Monday Nov. 25th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jordan Rimmer, officiating.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler, PA.
