James R. Rust Obituary
Hermitage, Pennsylvania - James R. Rust, 88, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025 in Saint John XXIII Home, surrounded by his family.
James was born Feb. 11, 1937 in Clarksville. He was the son of Vera Marie (Hoover) and Jesse Rust. He was a graduate of Hickory High School and worked for Sharon Steel as a craneman until his retirement.
James served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge.
On Aug. 22, 1958, he married Bonnie Lee (Fair) Rust, who survives him.
He was a member of the Shenango Valley Masonic Lodge 810, Scottish Rite New Castle Consistory, was an avid card player and was also a dedicated Cleveland sports fan.
James is survived by his wife, Bonnie Rust; daughters, Cathy (Eric) Friend, the Villages, Fla.,, Barbara Rust, Hermitage; son, James D. (Sharon) Rust, Transfer; grandchildren, Jessica (Luke) Fritz, James "Jimmy" Rust, Michael Friend; and great-grandchildren, Hunter and Cody Fritz. Also surviving are his brothers, Sonny (Judy) Hoover and Donald (Linda) Hoover.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diana L. Rust; brothers, Dale Rust, Charles Rust, Samuel Hoover and Richard Hoover; and sisters, Ruth Houk, Verna Chesmar and Doris "Dee" Johnson.

Services: Private, per his wishes.
Interment: Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville.
