James C. Cameron Obituary

Hermitage, PA - James C. Cameron, 91, of Jordyn Way, Hermitage, formerly of New Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 16, 2025, at his residence, with his loving family at his side.

Jim was born on May 29, 1934, in New Castle, to the late Robert and Laura Clark Cameron.

He married the former Marlene Hammers on Sept. 6, 1963, and she survives at the residence.

Jim was a lifelong farmer and friend to many. He was formerly the custodian at the Neshannock Presbyterian Church for 27 years.

James took pride in his wonderful gardening skills, and loving his family and grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to his wife Marlene include three children, James Robert (Rhonda) Cameron of New Wilmington; Barbara A. Horchler of Volant; and Jeffrey C. (Tiffany) Cameron of New Wilmington; five sisters, Reba Petrucci of West Middlesex; Erma Spencer of Longview, Texas; Roberta Gibson of Bessemer; and Hazel Shannon and Laura McCoy, both of New Castle; two brothers, Glen Cameron and Robert Cameron; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren who complete the family.

Jim is preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Chet, Harold and Dale Cameron.

Memorials may be given to the church.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (9-22-25) at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.

Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday (9-23-25) at Neshannock Presbyterian Church, 330 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, with Rebecca Rosengarth officiating.

Interment: Fair Oaks Cemetery.
